30 Mar Easter traditions and Easter at Tartufi & Friends
Italy at Easter gives its best, with a myriad of traditions, tastes, flavors and colors that vary from region to region.
In the province of Udine, for example, there is the game of truc: you have to slide cooked chicken eggs along an inclined basin of sand, with the aim of hitting the opponent’s egg. Who succeeds receives a prize.
In Florence there is the explosion of the wagon: in Piazza del Duomo a decorated chariot (that takes the name of “Brindellone”) is set on fire . The wagon is hit by a dove-shaped rocket and gives life to a fireworks show.
In the south the religious tradition starts from Campania to reach Puglia, with processions and bonfires that burn as a sign of devotion throughout the night of Holy Thursday.
But it is superfluous to say that the food is the undisputed king of the Easter. Chocolate eggs, cakes and cheese cakes, hard-boiled eggs, salami, grilled meat, starting with the “Easter breakfast” to continue, more or less, many hours.
Easter at Tartufi & Friends follows tradition with our gourmet touch and with the help of truffle, for a real feast of taste. Rack of lamb with artichokes and fettuccine with lamb ragout and sautéed artichokes are some of the Easter dishes by Chef Cattarin for our Roman restaurant, while green tortelli filled with Salva Cremasco, cauliflowers and raw asparagus and a dessert with chocolate, carrots and meringue some of the Easter dishes that chef Mauri will propose in the Milan restaurant.
We are waiting for you to celebrate Easter and Easter together!
We take this opportunity to make you our best wishes!
